Hello readers
Hope you all fine today.
“There is no alternative to this administrative system...
The Union will go; you will not have a united India if you do not have good
All-India Service which has the independence to speak out its mind, which has
sense of security that you will stand by your work... If you do not adopt this
course, then do not follow the present Constitution. Substitute something
else... these people are the instrument. Remove them and I see nothing, but a
picture of chaos all-round the country.”
-Sri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, First Home Minister of India
There are many professions a person can choose and will choose for
a living and in every country there are certain professions which are very
respectable and the people in that profession are also very responsible and should
be very much competent to pursue their careers in that particular profession.
There are certain criteria a person considers when he wants to
choose his career, the popular “jargons” used are words like work life balance,
job satisfaction, work culture, job enhancement phew... the list almost
endless.
But there are other kind of people who pursue more to the benefit
of society and this whole world rather than for mere monetary gain and other
perquisites, the immediate words which come to your mind are doctors, lawyers,
our soldiers, the police force, nurses, hawkers and cleaners the garbage
lifters I am sorry the list is so long that I am going to stop at that as you
know where I am coming from.
We all know there are certain positions in the various Governments
of the world which are considered very powerful, in our country where we are
following the British mercantile law to this day, the brilliant organizational
set up which made it possible to almost conquer the whole world in the name of
a company.
The civil services which was a part of the British imperial
services to the queen (1893–1946). With
the passing of the Government of India Act 1919, the Imperial Services headed
by the Secretary of State for India, were split into two – All India Services
and Central Services and the Indian Administrative
Service (IAS), The Indian police Service (IPS), The Indian Forest Service
(IFS), The Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and the Indian Foreign Service (IFS)
was born.
The aspirants have a tough journey to be a part any of the above
cadres the recruitment process is the most tough and testing.
Officers are recruited from Civil Services Examination conducted
by the Union Public Service Commission. They are also promoted from State Civil
Services and selected from non-state civil service. Unlike candidates selected
for other civil services, a person once appointed to the Indian Administrative
Service or Indian Foreign Service (IFS) becomes ineligible to reappear in Civil
Services Examination, because, prior to 1979 a person to be eligible for
IAS/IFS had to appear for additional papers but even after the UPSC civil
services exam was made common, the status quo was maintained.
After getting selected, candidates undergo training at the Lal
Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, (Uttarakhand)
LBSNAA, Mussoorie for IAS.
The Indian Police Service
It was again introduced by the British Government
in 1861 under the Indian Councils Act and was called superior Police
services meant for moral policing and controlling the revolutionary movement in
the Indian freedom struggle.
Prior to Independence, senior police officers belonging to the
Imperial Police (IP) were appointed by the Secretary of State on the basis of a
competitive examination. The first open civil service examination for admission
to the service was held in England in June 1893 and the ten top candidates were
appointed as probationers in the Indian (Imperial) Police. It is not possible
to pinpoint an exact date on which the Indian Police came formally into being.
Around 1907, the Secretary of State's officers were directed to wear the
letters "IP" on their epaulettes in order to distinguish them from
the other officers not recruited by the Secretary of State through examination.
In this sense, 1907 could be regarded as the starting point.
1948, a year after India gained independence; the Imperial Police
was replaced by IPS. The main objectives of this service is to fulfil duties
based on border responsibilities, in the areas of maintenance of public peace
and order, crime prevention, investigation, and detection, collection of
intelligence, VIP security, counter-terrorism, border policing, railway
policing, tackling smuggling, drug trafficking, economic offences, corruption
in public life, disaster management, enforcement of socio-economic legislation,
biodiversity and protection of environmental laws etc.
Leading and commanding the Indian Intelligence Agencies like
Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Central Bureau
of Investigation (CBI), Criminal Investigation Department (CID) etc., Indian
Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, Civil and Armed Police Forces in all the
states and union territories.
Every citizen in India is always amazed by an officer be it an IAS
or the IPS seeing their strength and velour.
Alas, as Shakespeare quoted there are more inside enemies in the
hamlet than there are outside.
There is a huge conspiracy going in the recent times where senior
and strict officers are being transferred or even being murdered through
proxies and made to look like suicides or homicides unreasonably for the only
reason that they are honest few names worthy to be mentioned as here Sri DK
Ravi, recently Sri Anurag Tiwari, why are the investigative agencies not
stringent about the culprits behind their tragedies and not brought into court?
The latest and the most shameful incident of IPS
officer DIG Roopa D Moudgil who was the whistleblower for the way
things were going on in the Bangalore central jail being
transferred to traffic department without any proper
justifications and Honorable chief minister Siddaramaiah just snubbing the
issue on camera!
Come on how low can the political class get to? Have they lost
their complete character forget as a politician I don’t have any doubts about
it, what about as a person?
Have they lost their total bearings of thinking and only think
about vote bank politics and how to make loads of dirty money for their future generations?
And recently I have observed the only way of enforcement happening
in most critical issues in India let it be a an IIT grace marks issue, beef,
and so on is through the honorable supreme court why not the lower courts be
empowered? why are we the citizens of the country so callous about how things
are going around us. Don’t we care for this country? I am sure many of you have
been thinking in similar lines but have not expressed or not care to.
We have to come out of this junk atmosphere of useless circulation
of memes and useless social networking and start sharing something useful which
should be proactive and activate the think centers in us, come back to the
India of wisdom where all Indians were so brilliant they the occidental society
craved for our brains, remember even today the great organizations are running
because of Indians and the father of the Pentium chip which made a difference
in the computing industry is an Indian Mr. Vinod Dham who is called the
unsung hero of the silicon valley.
Why are we not true to ourselves in our own country?
Is not a simple case of enforcement: The court has convicted a woman
named Ms. Sasikala and sentenced her to serve her term of punishment
why in first place the political class should involve in the functioning of a
prison!

Is it not laughable, I think it is unimaginable that we all are
living in magical worlds and unconcerned and we don’t think about the law and
order situation in India.
I urge the youth who read this blog to start thinking about such
issues and tailor a solution and present it in forums so that we can persuade
the Government to implement our suggestions, remember just by casting votes
your duty is not over, you need to cast vote to person whom you think should
have the true qualities of a leader, we need huge phenomenal change tremors
that should give out a clear message to these politicians who think we are all
callus.
Please leave your feedback in the comment box and give me valuable
suggestions and topics on which I can think about and write.
