Platoon.

 Hello Readers

Hope you are doing well today!

It has been a while since I wrote, always feels good to be back to blogging.

It always seems impossible until it's done.

-Nelson Mandela

I am writing about the concept of groups today; I have etched about this before, but I will give a different dimension to it.

When I say groups, i am talking about social groups, private groups, and finally, even a family is a group of people.

There are numerous quotes, sayings, and whatnot on being in the right group of people to achieve what we want.

How important is a group that we are in?

I feel it is very much essential of what group we belong to.

The simple reason being our brain is wired like an ape; for a fact, we all are the advanced version of simians!

So, the tendency to mimic what others do is very normal.

Let us consider a child; when it is born, the child's brain is very fresh, like a clean glass bottle that can be filled with nectar or poison.

Nectar is the good values, qualities, and other good things you can fill and nurture the kid.

The poison is the act of superior and inferior, the logic we plant in their mind about the world's systems that are not so perfect, like differentiating people based on race, ethnicity, caste and creed, faith, religion, the list goes on!

We need to move on; a baby is like a sculpture; you can turn it into a masterpiece or trash it.

That brings me to the right groups; if the child is born in a robber’s group, it will grow to become one. There are exceptions for any group, for sure. Your birth defines who you will end up in most cases, but this has also been disproved many times.

Sometimes, irrespective of where the kid was born, it blossoms to be the best individual; this is where reincarnation and rebirth of a great soul are evident!

My point is very subtle and simple; either the person should have an in-built maturity to judge what is wrong or right. Or he should develop friendships and relationships with groups which help the person to grow and motivate him.

Let us leave some old practices which are really old and evil and not be judgmental on people based on their birth, let us accept them for what they are by understanding them with fairness.

Even if the person is an introvert, atleast he or she should have people he or she considers as friends who help them get up when they fall and guide them.

Remember, we are driven by our platoons and sometimes tend to lose ourselves in the storm.

Always think good for yourself and the people around you.

 Thanks for your valuable time.

Veritable Civilization

Hello There

I hope you are fine today.

The world has progressed from whatever state it was because, to be honest, I do not believe in the Big Bang theory as belief more in facts than Chimera or fantasy.

We are aware of the repetitive story of human evolution; I am not going to bore you by ranting on the same thing.

Think of this word equality, what are those vibes coming up in your brain? I asked this to some of my friends and family,  interestingly they came up with, the need to treat people equally, gender bias, inequality, the power of unity and most of them used this word unity.

So in the beginning, when humans were still making sense of this oasis in the universe called earth, we were just hunters, gathers until slowly we became intellectual and this world is now called "civilized?"

Hmm…. So let me think what do we mean by civilized, can we call it cultured, refined, urbane?

I want to talk about three crucial aspects today,

One: what is true civilization or to be truly civilized.
Two: The bias mindset of homo sapiens.
Three: the need for equality.

The need for equality.
Well people say this is an era of open-minded people, free-living, easy going are some of the jargons, but I feel everything is not as transparent as it looks, because I am a realist I see what is going on in people’s lives, they are stuck on a lone cantilevers because they are not treated as same as others, and are not accepted in society for whatever reasons this "civilized" society thinks is logical!

For instance, in the Oscar award winning movie joker, the director has tried to illustrate how a social outcast turns into a negative person and become a sadist! Is society not partly responsible? Think there may be so many people still fighting for their equality while we are enjoying ours!

The bias Mindset.
Chauvinism and feminism are related words, and there is a lot of bias that goes hand in hand with these two words. They are related to the opposite sexes pointing fingers each other and trying to prove one is superior to the other, where are we heading do you think this is the right direction? Come on, men can't tolerate women and women can’t tolerate men? So we never moved on.

Men and women are at fault here, and I think it is just slowing the progress of the world by draining energies into parallel warehouses of hatred towards each other.

 The dream of true civilization.
You might have heard this before, but I think it makes sense and it may be real, individual sections in the society are living differently than you and me, how are they different? They are leading lives with bare minimum of resources, with no clean water to drink just following their survival instincts, do you think they understand the words like religion, gender bias, definitely not because they are living on a simple value system which helps them socialize with anyone and everyone who will help them to survive the sunset and allow them to see the next sunrise, I appreciate their value system more than the sophisticated ones which we are trapped in!

The essence of progress is the root of a society not at the tremendous economic standards of that domicile, even though a country is known to the world by these economic factors, the grass-root level reveals how happy a commoner in that country is? The day he has his smile on his face that is the dream of true civilization.

The essence is also the omission of trivial inequalities like gender wars, religious wars, discrimination of all kind and addition of simplicity, joyfulness purity in the name of humanity and nothing else.

Men and women should acknowledge each other's weaknesses and complement each other and work as a team which is the first step towards civilization.

Look back at the path you took when you have reached your destination, you will be the first to know if you have progressed.

Thanks for your time, Have a great day ahead.

Felony and Lenity

Hello Readers

Hope you all are doing well.

I busted a mirror and got seven years bad luck, but my lawyer thinks he can get me five.

-Steven Wright

Before we start, want you to keep this word in mind “Clemency” simply meaning mercy or leniency.

In this blog:
  •     The recent brutal gang rape and murder in Hyderabad India and its after math.

  •      The Rape accused in the 2015 Delhi Nirbhaya case commenting about Delhi pollution and his application for clemency to the honourable  president of India.

1   .  What happened in Hyderabad? On the 27 of November 2019.
A brutal rape and murder of a 26-year-old veterinary doctor in the wee hours by four miscreants posing to help her when she was back where she had parked her vehicle and noticed it had a flat tire.

This case is considered one of the brutal cases after the infamous Nirbaya case in Delhi.

I could post the whole story, which is going on in the media, but, everyone would have read and heard about it all over the media that is not my intention.

The summary of what happened is, a lady late in her twenties was on her way back home   noticed her vehicle Tyre was punctured and was lured by some lorry drivers who offered to fix her vehicle eventually assaulting her sexually, murdered her and burnt her!

What a sad state of affairs in India, are we in such a society that we can’t protect the dignity and safety of our women! Whom we worship as goddesses of different forms!

A famous Sanskrit quote:

"Yatra naryastu pujyante ramante tatra Devata,
yatraitaastu na pujyante sarvaastatrafalaah kriyaah "

This famous shloka from Manusmruthi which means: where Women are honoured, divinity blossoms there, and where women are dishonoured, all action no matter how noble remains unfruitful.

This was the culture our elders had thought us, but I don’t know why everything contradictory is happening in India.

I sincerely do not believe by comparing the statistics of other country and feeling happy that we are better off, we should think about setting up an example not by comparing with others.

This incident took a different turn when police encountered the accused just a week after during a normal crime reconstruction exercise, when the accused tried to escape and also shoot at the police, in retaliation the police exterminated them!

While the whole country has different opinions about this, at one hand people saying it was a perfect thing what they have done, on the other side people saying that judicial procedure should have taken place! So that the accused could have their say.

Personally, if the people who were shot down were the real perpetrators of the crime, then they deserve to die! There is an enquiry going on the encounter hope the police come out clean.

2. The Delhi Nirbaya case: Clemency!
I was sipping my coffee one winter morning last week; I was amazed to read that the accused Akshay Kumar was seeking clemency!

One of the four men convicted in the 2012 Nirbaya rape and murder case has asked the Supreme Court to spare him the death penalty since life in Delhi is by default getting “short” due to air and water pollution. No, you read that right. This absurd argument finds a mention in a plea filed by Akshay Singh Thakur requesting the Supreme Court to review his conviction in the Nirbaya rape and murder case.

Akshay Singh Thakur -- the lone convict not to have filed a review plea -- has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a review of his conviction in the Nirbaya rape and murder case. The petition brings up points of law, argues that Akshay was incorrectly convicted and talks about capital punishment which is abolished in various countries.

At one point, Akshay’s review petition inexplicably brings up Delhi’s air quality. “... It is important to pertain here that Air Quality of Delhi NCR ( National Captial region)  and the metro city is burst and as a gas chamber... the water of Delhi NCR and the metro city is also full of poison... Everyone is aware of what is happening in Delhi NCR concerning water and air,” the petition says before asking a simple question.
“Life is short too short, then why the death penalty? [sic]"

Can you believe a rape accused who has lost all his legal means to defend himself can talk like this!

Now about the clemency: We have a supreme court in India which is considered the highest body of the judiciary, but the accused still has a chance to apply to the president of India to grant him life imprisonment instead of hanging till death!

The law in India: Articles 72 and 161 of the Constitution
Grant of pardon wipes off the guilt of accused and brings him to the original position of innocence as if he had never committed the offence for which he was charged. Under Indian law, the President of India and the Governors of States have been given the power to grant pardons, reprieves, respites or remissions of punishment or to suspend, remit or commute the sentence. The law governing the grant of pardon is contained in Articles 72 and 161 of the Constitution.

(courtesy: https://www.lawteacher.net/free-law-essays/administrative-law/power-to-pardon-an-analysis-law-essays.php)

This law is there only for the innocent who are framed wrongly, not for a convicted person who has committed such a brutal crime that humanity can't even imagine.

I strongly feel there should be a constitutional amendment to be made in this regard.

The provision should only be awarded for the accused who are actually innocent. I urge the honourable president of India to reject the petition at the earliest and order the accused to face the gallows.

The purpose of the law is to protect its people, and people created the law; therefore, corrections should be made when the law is not serving its purpose!

We talk about law, evidence, forensic study, proving who is guilty and the terms of the punishment, we should also think about the poor souls who were cut short of their lives and were used as a material forgetting all human values, and the pain they went through, all of their life ambitions just smashed because of such thugs, is not unfair?

Please let me know your comments on this post.
Thanks a lot for your time.

Modern mishaps

Hello readers

Hope you all doing well.

True Knowledge is not attained by thinking; it is what you are and what you become.
-Sri Aurobindo Gosh

The rains have recessed in India, but I feel still there will be an aftermath effect of the recent floods in parts of Kerala and Karnataka. I pray for their wellbeing.

Today I wanted to discuss something which is lingering in the corner of my mind from quite some time now.

Have you seen people around you, who have a garden approach towards nature and not a natural one?

I know you are wondering about what I just said, ok let me be a little bit clear when I say garden approach I mean to say some people feel the surroundings of their homes need to have trees and plants well pruned always, not only their households but also their neighbours.!

I am sure you would have come across such people, well am not judgmental here, and I will leave the thinking to you. So here is the instance.

There is a policy of the municipal corporation in Bengaluru which says, for every new house built, the civic body will plant a minimum of one sapling and up to a maximum of 2 seedlings in front of the homes to compromise any chopping down by trees during land development.

Apparently when these plants grow in a span of 10 to 15 years, there will be a periodic shedding of leaves and flowers, and of course, all this is biodegradable and can be used as compost manure for your garden If you do have one.

Here is the problem some people consider this natural process of shedding leaves and flowers as a new sense and make a big a deal about it, and reach the heights of chopping the branches of the trees or sometimes the whole tree itself, do you know who helps them the to accomplish this task? The same municipal Wing which planted these trees.

The question we need ask such great people who want to keep their surroundings "so clean" is that have they realised how much waste they generate on a daily basis from the time they get up until they sleep. Poisoning rivers, which once were flowing with clean and pure water now a city sewer for crores of people?

Stop thinking of nature as a burden, remember you are part of it if tomorrow there are no trees you are history. For all the authorities who believe they can get cheap votes by this type pruning appeasement, it's the biggest shame and the most useless way to get votes.

Please consider options like co-operative compost pits, neighbours should participate in cleaning each other's garden cleaning activities and see how happy you would feel and also will be a physical activity which would help you stay healthy.

Thanks for your time.

The counsellor

Hello readers
We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us.

-H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Hope you all are doing well. We all live effectively for 40 odd years, surprised? see what Muhammad Ali had to say on life!

"You live first 10 years of life just to make sense of it, next 15 in your own hitch ups and then move to marital life or any other life so these 40 years are the one which actually count".

He continues to say what you give back to this society in these 40 years is what matters.

Have you visited a counsellor  anytime?  not only for depression or issues relating to your mind, even for educational purposes we visit them, to estimate in which aspect we have the aptitude.

Well that is one way of looking at that profession there is another way this profession is taken into, that is ethical or social counseling.

What is ethical counselling? It  mainly deals with the fine tuning of some moral principles and values which the person is not aware of or has failed to follow due to various factors like personal issues or societal issues.

Social counselling specifically looks at more personal problems of individual, like issues in his family or whatever difficulties he faces on a daily basis when he wants to communicate with people.

Those are the basic definitions of ethical and social counselling.

But there is actually a counsellor within you,  have ever observed for yourself?

It is the same voice which speaks to you when you are angry and tries to calm you down, when you are happy makes you laugh and also try to share it with friends and benefactors.

So who is this sitting inside you and trying to always keep you stable, it is your own intellect, your mind or soul whatever you want to call it.

Among the families across the world, Indian families are considered one of the most successful families no doubt it is true our marraige is a very well planned instituation, but at the same time it has its own problems.

Indians suffer from the problem of ego, and that is almost one of the most damaging factors in a family.

A scientist in Russia once said, family is just like community living where everyone will be provided with similar luxuries and eat at a  common place and mostly the family is best when it is a joint family because it would have various senior people to advise the inexperienced emerging fathers, is how he puts it in his book family: An industry.

But as time has passed the joint family concept in India stands at all time low, so the nuclear families have taken over, but due to egoistic elements in these families we see many traumatic incidents within the family which any member has to bare the brunt. The reason it happens is may be due to the person  is not  considerate to others in the family may have had a rough childhood or he is totally ignorant and arrogant.

Is there a solution of this growing problem which seriously mentally drains other people in the family? and having a direct impact on the future generations.

Of course yes, first the person should think for a while is it correct to do  what he is doing? To him and others this is the self-counselling he should do or others would motivate him to do.

The most important role would be of that particular person in  that family, who has the zeal and the charisma to impress the person in question and help him understand his problems.

This internal Counsellor is present in almost all families and I am telling they are the people who can take the maximum stress and push the family towards heights of success.

I salute to all these special people for being matured at the right moment and help the people around them to ease them in a grim situation caused by someone's silly and stupid behavior for silly things.

So as Mohammad Ali the great boxer said concentrate on those 40 years, what will you do in life other than frowning, grumbling, blaming and making people around you feel sad for your behavior.

Thanks for your valuable time. Adios!

Live happy  always.

The Beautiful Struggle: Pain in the Pursuit of Dreams

Hello Readers I hope you are fine today. It's good to be blogging after a while. I wrote about the pains and struggles, as well as what...
