Wisdom

Hello readers

Hope you all are fine today.

I have written about mind and brain on previous occasions, but this time i wanted to write something different.

Well, the base of this discussion would be that we all know that the brain is a living organic matter and the most advanced organ in all the bodies of the creatures on earth.

Some creatures don't have a brain, but they do have something called as a nerve center or the nerve cell, which substitutes a mind, the prominent example is of the jellyfish.

Now coming to mind, what do you think it is? An organ or just a membrane or something else?

Recently, advanced neuroscientists have come up with the latest definition of the mind, which is:

"Mind is a 1 million neuron symphony and a collection of electrical signals in your brain which makes you what you are ".

It is legitimate and logical. However, still, the scientists accept that there is something beyond them which cannot or even yet not understood completely. That nut is still fully not cracked.

Imagine man landed on the moon with the help of his high intelligence. Still, definitely, he had the will to do it, in other words, that will be called the mind for this discussion.

I think more than brain the mind plays a vital role in all our lives because amongst the people I have met in my life who seem to be so cheerful on the outside, are hurt deep down and are trying to experience real happiness.

Always one of the reasons for their sadness is something that is bothering them their mind, which they are not happy about out.

This opens a new topic of discussion, the mind and the soul, when I address myself or address you as my readers I am actually trying to establish that conversion with "you" the whole personality just not the body which is physical but the forces in the background, your mind, your consciousness and your soul .

Some people spend their whole lives trying to understand what is going on in their mind, and they hardly find out.

What can you do? First of all, try to understand people, not from their happy faces.

Their conversation with you will give you lot of hints about their state of mind.

If you feel they are mentally not healthy, try to help them by just talking to them, and you will see the happiness on their face and sense of relief.

They will be thankful to you for helping them open up! They might have some bugs at home that keep bugging them and trying to pull them down.

Let's try to lift the people who need a hand. I feel at least that is the bare minimum we can do!

Thanks for your time.

I am still exploring this topic of behavioral science and intend to come back with a more cognitive approach next time, which should help us more in understanding ourselves and others.

We can think! because..

Hello Readers

Hope you all are doing well.

Thought courtesy:Google images
It's good to be blogging again, this one is going to be very relevant to many of our situations in life, I hope!

They say we define our personalities by the environment around us, and learn each day from the day things start making sense to us until the end of our lives.

Making sense of  or deriving the meanings of what we see, hear, experience and our responses to any situation is actually half of our life spent.

Abraham Maslow, an American psychologist who is famous for his theory "Maslow's need hierarchy", has put self-actualization needs at the top of his psychological pyramid.

We can culminate many vital aspects and facts from this theory, I wish to share some of them today, and also link it with our thinking.

The synopsis of his theory is: A person will look upon five types of needs in his journey of life. The first one being psychological needs which is the primary food, clothing and shelter.

Next comes the safety needs which is the security needed to lead a peaceful life, followed by love and belongingness from his people then the esteem needs, the person expects others to appreciate him, which is called superego.

Finally, at the end of the pyramid, we have the self-actualization need which is considered as the ultimate stage a person can reach where all his other obligations are in abundance and now he or she contemplates about higher and philosophical matters like divinity, soul and God and also materialistic matters like a grand house and a celebrity life!

Well, that is the simplest way I could think to explain this theory.

Now let's try to put some practicality, by keeping our thoughts as reference.

Imagine a tramp, who wanders on the streets and beseeches for money and eats just one time a day, what do you think his thinking scope would be, well we can say it would not reach more than the psychological needs mark.

Another instance let us think about a more economically stable person who is leading a family life, his Maslow index (as referred by Abraham Maslow) will be love and belongingness.

Sorry, imagine again, a wealthy man who is famous as a celebrity, what do you think his Maslow index would be? It will definitely reach the self-actualization mark.

I think even though the theory is so simple, it teaches us so much more to make our lives more understanding from a psychological and behavioural point of view.

We think because we have the liberty, time and energy to think, because for us most of the things which are actually basic is taken care of by our family who helps you get minimum education which makes you feel confident and help you achieve your goals.

Your job or business helps you to earn your bread, your friends who are there for you to listen to your problems and also share your happiness, your doctor to take care of your health, the list is always endless, this endless list of people who are there to for  you during the crusts and troughs of your life, is what gives you the confidence to think!

The crux is you are governed by the limit of your thinking ability, and that ability and limit is set by the current status/ standard of your living and the people around you, that's the hard truth.

Yes! of course for any theory there will be  exceptions, similarly for this theory the exception I can think of is , the  brilliant people around the world who were so determined that they could achieve whatever they dreamed of because of their will and determination! Superseding the needs in the pyramid at the cost of their sacrifices.

But to accept a conceptualization as a theory, the sampling test should be a positive value, which means most (50% or more of the sample) qualify under the premise of this model.

So for all the arrogantly proud people who think they are the kings and queens and can think and do whatever they wish to.They must remember they dare to do so because and only because of their support systems around them which makes things work for them!

So it's better to be humble, which helps you to reach the summit of the Maslow pyramid!

Let go, ego!

Thanks a lot for your time, have a great week ahead.

Hot springs

Hello readers

Hope you all are doing well.

He who angers you, conquers you.
-Elizabeth Kelly

That one thing we can correlate to ourselves was, is and will be nature. You can compare your smile to a bright and sunny day, dull days to an overcast, overwhelming happiness to plethora, great mettle to a rough ocean and so on.

Even though my previous blog was about anger, i decided to write this because this is a different type of anger which we all have experienced,

Why do we react the way we counter is one question is still in the top 10 research topics in the world.

When I say “why do we react the way we react” it is not the usual behavioral patterns which I am talking about. I am talking about some unexpected behavior people which you never in your wildest dreams imagined that you would get such a response.

The easiest instance would be you are so happy about your day; suddenly someone makes a comment which would make you feel such a grouch.

So why do we get worked up sometimes and just go out of control and seriously not know what we are doing.

Anger or the process of getting angry is actually a process which drains your calories have we realized that?  I can prove my point, just observe sometimes when you get angry and scream on someone you would get tired, because the brain though in the modern world works on basic fundamentals which are working on your mood.

For example if you’re scared it switches to defense mood and you feel powered in your legs so that you can run! When you are hungry you will feel more powerful in your arms as to kill some animal and eat which we were initially designed for.

So when you are furious, it switched to the hunt mood and the above mentioned process takes place each time you get livid.

I have observed many people who just angry without any provocation, that I feel is them feeling jealous on you, for the happiness you are which they are not able to enjoy and there sadistic attitude just pops out, there are actually numerous reasons.

There are many experiences where I have seen people randomly getting furious on me for no fault of mine. I just ignore such people, and again they cannot tolerate which their own weakness.

There are places where they teach you how to control your anger and stay calm , my take on that is, it is not required because controlling anger is a mind game and you are the best person who can control your brain no one else knows better than that.

I feel anger and sadness both are hot springs; it can burn you if you try to enjoy the soothing hot water.

Don’t lose your friends family  for that matter because of rage, the fact is it is seriously not worth that rage instead channel it into positive energy to do something productive.

Thanks for your time.

Are you Mr Nosey?

Hello reader

Hope you are doing well.

When you look at something around, you get a stream of thoughts on your mind that according to learned scholars is your basic thinking model of how your brain looks at this world.

I Will give you a small example when you look at a poster on the street of some product you may perceive what is the good feature of the commodity displayed, your friend may like the price of the, this is a simple concept that we almost aware of, but do you know the way we perceive shows our thinking model and our attitude, let us discuss more on this.

From the time in our lives we start building our perceptions about this world and foster over our own meanings we unknowingly end up in learning how the society works, how processes work and that they call “meaningfulness”.

But all good things will have cons in this case what is that, well you know humans become over smart to such an extent that they finally cheat themselves.

A small instance, you see two people talking pointing at you and laughing there is  a chance you  jump into a conclusion that they are laughing at you, in worst cases you may end up rebuke them only to embarrassed they were laughing at a banner which was just in your line of sight.

Ego is good for humans actually because without this self-personality we would lack a character, if you read the above line again there are 3 words which are synonymous yup you are right I am talking about ego, self-personality and character which one and the same.

We call ourselves adults and sometimes behave in such a way that we are not fit to be called as one.

We snoop on almost everyone possible in this world and we forget that there something even called as “minding our own business”

Why does this happen? We all have inherited this quality from our ancestors the apes they used this technique to gather food, a senior in the family used to  shout when he locates a branch full of fruits or lush green foliage this activity is called as ‘echoing’ in evolution biology hearing this call all the other family used to jump to that particular branch of the tree or to the place and share that food.

If you have noticed in big offices where there is a cubical arrangement people suddenly take their eyes of their workstations when someone makes a weird noise or a loud laugh or a cry or you hear a rubble, this is your last remaining quality of the ape in you which is still not mutated and vanished from us like the tail of an primate.

It’s about time and I seriously say it is about time, we start minding our own business try to do something meaningful, I don’t expect anyone to do something good to society atleast be good to your family and friends and yourself, that would propel you to think atleast and if you put your thinking image in the mind of the guy next door there is a hope this society will improve.

We are judging people around us without even knowing them, when we end up in this mode first let us think do they mean anything to us in our lives and also what will we get if we just snoop or gossip on someone.

Are snoopers snooping on their own pains?  Probably.
-Martin Amis-famous British Novelist.

Think again.

Thanks for your time.
