If Steve Jobs could do it ,why shouldn't we try ?

Hello Readers

I hope you all are safe and doing well!

Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.

-Steve Jobs

The Woah! feeling swims around in our minds hearing these names; Apple INC, Google, WhatsApp, Facebook, Amazon! which is natural.

The sheer magnitude these companies have played in our lives, Apple for phones, amazon for everything! Google is the new information oxygen! Facebook is the new ozone of people! WhatsApp is now a basic need.

The world has changed forever due to these multi-billion-dollar firms.

I have always admired Steve Jobs for the person he was, and his future sighted thinking.

I have read the “Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson", a brilliant book, learnt a lot about the oracle of the modern smartphone.

A humble beginning in his father's garage with his friend Steve Wozniak another Brilliant American engineer.

Today these brilliant minds turned it around how people look and feel about a laptop and a phone.

Steve Jobs was a very stubborn, determined and his focus was laser guided.

He had to step down from the board of his own company yet started his own company NeXT INC and started a graphic studio called PIXAR, which is today one of the world's top animation studios, which Disney acquired.

Remember "finding memo", "Toy Story", the "cars" yup! that is the PIXAR I am talking about.

One fine day Jobs returned to Apple.

When I heard his Harvard university speech, I was stumped; he narrates how he stepped down from Apple's board and was disappointed.

Then he talks about how it allowed him to work on fonts and texts because he loved calligraphy and the result, the beautiful font types you see on your mac books today, which is, by the way, unique!

Mr. Steve Jobs, a spearheaded man, releases the iPhone in the year 2007.

I Feel that was the start of a paradigm in the phone industry when Windows mobile operating systems were at the peak of the touch phone industry.

Here comes a dummy-proof device with only a single button, and people loved it!

Today the iPhone is the most preferred phone by a person, according to a survey in Forbes magazine.

Some more people who made the world look at India and caused a boom in the IT industry and created great employment opportunity in India, Ratanji Tata, Narayana Murthy, Azeem Premji, Shiv Nadar.

What differentiates these entrepreneurs from us?

I would say nothing.

They got a better opportunity they were, living in the Silicon Valley or became part of later?

Fine, let us consider all those parameters: yes, they had the upper hand as US always has seen many pioneers due to appreciation towards entrepreneurs, compared to a so-called arrogantly branded "third world country" like India and maybe better-quality education and a support system, but there is something unlike in them.

So how could they succeed?

It was the determination, the rage to succeed which led them to what they are today.

Can we become like them?

Why not? Who is stopping you?

No one you are stopping yourself! Give it a try.

The sky is the limit! Stand alone. It is good, do something different.

All the best! Thanks for your time.

Please stay safe; wear a mask.

My deepest condolences to the souls who have left us in these challenging times.

Platoon.

 Hello Readers

Hope you are doing well today!

It has been a while since I wrote, always feels good to be back to blogging.

It always seems impossible until it's done.

-Nelson Mandela

I am writing about the concept of groups today; I have etched about this before, but I will give a different dimension to it.

When I say groups, i am talking about social groups, private groups, and finally, even a family is a group of people.

There are numerous quotes, sayings, and whatnot on being in the right group of people to achieve what we want.

How important is a group that we are in?

I feel it is very much essential of what group we belong to.

The simple reason being our brain is wired like an ape; for a fact, we all are the advanced version of simians!

So, the tendency to mimic what others do is very normal.

Let us consider a child; when it is born, the child's brain is very fresh, like a clean glass bottle that can be filled with nectar or poison.

Nectar is the good values, qualities, and other good things you can fill and nurture the kid.

The poison is the act of superior and inferior, the logic we plant in their mind about the world's systems that are not so perfect, like differentiating people based on race, ethnicity, caste and creed, faith, religion, the list goes on!

We need to move on; a baby is like a sculpture; you can turn it into a masterpiece or trash it.

That brings me to the right groups; if the child is born in a robber’s group, it will grow to become one. There are exceptions for any group, for sure. Your birth defines who you will end up in most cases, but this has also been disproved many times.

Sometimes, irrespective of where the kid was born, it blossoms to be the best individual; this is where reincarnation and rebirth of a great soul are evident!

My point is very subtle and simple; either the person should have an in-built maturity to judge what is wrong or right. Or he should develop friendships and relationships with groups which help the person to grow and motivate him.

Let us leave some old practices which are really old and evil and not be judgmental on people based on their birth, let us accept them for what they are by understanding them with fairness.

Even if the person is an introvert, atleast he or she should have people he or she considers as friends who help them get up when they fall and guide them.

Remember, we are driven by our platoons and sometimes tend to lose ourselves in the storm.

Always think good for yourself and the people around you.

 Thanks for your valuable time.

Valuable Than Gold!

Hello Readers

I hope you all are doing well.

Sometimes I feel ants are a more mature society!

-Charles Darwin

Man is a social animal, is what we have heard; yes, I agree with that statement.

So how are we different? Yes, we have the power of communication with us, which we invented; for sure other animals communicate. Their communication methods and skills are way advanced than us in terms of the technology they use compared to humans.

But they use it only for the essential functions of their life and survival.

We use it not only for the essential survival purpose but also, we have used it as a medium to spread happiness, create great literary works and so on.

Okay, after a brief intro, let us begin today is read.

What do we understand by the word alignment?

If we look at the geometrical meaning, it says an arrangement of specific points in a particular direction that we call a straight line.

From a literature point of view, it is called "agreement."

The agreement let me set the premise first, here the context is at personal level, not a professional or any legal contracts.

We all have different circles in our lives, a family we call blood relations; then we have a tightly knitted friends circle, your work group and they  continue to expand.

Alignment and maturity go hand in hand; we grow each day, and along with our physical growth, there should be balanced mental growth as well.

Hey! got this pic on my balcony, group of ants helping an injured one!

The Symphony of Alignment.

We meet people as our lives progress, and when two people meet and figure out there thinking in sync, there starts their journey of alignment.

The exciting part is that you consider that person as your own, and this relationship becomes beyond anything for them.

They may consider them best of friends, maybe siblings, or become a couple if they fall in love with each other.

There is a great need in this world, or I would rather say a shortage of people to support each other, people who are our blood sometimes hurt us for no reasons, at that moment we need some shoulders to rest on feel a little bit comfortable.

We all must strive to be helpful at all times; we must be ready to lend an ear to anyone who comes to you seeking help; if we don't have even that patience, I think there is no point in being or called civilized.

Also, a humble appeal to elders, try to understand your kids rather than trashing them for no reasons; you know these are iffy times, we are not sure what they are going through, atleast if you do not want to help them, please do not hurt them.

For people who are in a clear understanding and agreement with atleast one friend, brother, sister, or partner, please continue the great partnership; take it from me. It is precious than gold!

Never think you are alone in this world because many people are there, who think they are alone!

Pay Cheque

Okay! the ground reality is, even though, you are around the kindest of people, you need money to survive so please start working towards that!

-Unknown

It has been quite some time since I blogged, always great to be blog again.

My last blog, https://harishmurthy.blogspot.com/2021/01/blue-tick.html got some good hits, people like and agreed, and debated my thoughts on social media, messengers, the communication world so on.

Glad you guys echoed my thoughts and came back with honest feedback.

For today, I chose to continue about one of my old blogs:

https://harishmurthy.blogspot.com/2020/02/money-plant-delusion-or-reality.html , this one was a bird's eye view about financial planning and the options available at a high level, I knew for a fact that it needed more emphasis and thought it as it is a very vast topic. It is the need of the hour.

Before moving forward, how many of us are aware of and sensitive about financial planning can we call it future planning. According to some research papers on the net, the average is around 38.6 percentage worldwide.

This is a global percentage, and the United States cover 18 percent of this total percentage. The world together is left with only 20.6 percent of individuals who are thinking and planning.

Financial Planning Standards Board a very reputed institute which is famous for awarding the certification called "Certified financial planner" popularly called as CFP had conducted surveys during the Q3 and Q4 of 2015, here are some findings:

Consumers lack confidence in achieving their financial goals. Just 22 percent believe strongly that they will achieve their financial goals. Only 17 percent believe strongly in their financial know-how, and just 19 percent feel successful in sticking to their financial strategies.

Being debt-free is most important to consumers globally. Being free of significant financial debt (55 percent) and being free of typical consumer debt (54 percent) are most important to consumers, with being prepared for an unexpected financial emergency (52 percent), home ownership (52 percent) and building up savings (51 percent) next on the list of significant priorities.

Consumers are interested in financial planning services to help them get on track financially. Survey respondents view retirement planning as the most helpful financial planning service (50 per cent), followed by investment planning (38 per cent) and then budgeting, cash flow and debt management together at 36 per cent.

However, most rely on friends and family – not professional financial planners – for information on financial matters and planning. More than four in 10 (44 per cent) consumers rely on friends and family, while another 41 per cent rely on financial information websites. Fewer (31 per cent) turn to a financial planner.

Knowing whom to trust is the most significant barrier to working with a financial professional. Among those surveyed, 68 per cent rate "trustworthiness" as especially important when choosing a financial professional – higher than any other consideration. Yet, two in three consumers (66 percent) agree either strongly or somewhat that they do not know whom to trust when getting financial planning advice.

Those who work with a financial professional generally feel better prepared to achieve their financial goals. While those who work with a financial adviser express more substantial confidence in achieving their financial and life goals (31 percent strongly agree versus 15 percent among those who do not work with a professional), those working with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional are even more confident (43 percent).

Consumers with a plan are more confident. And those who have a written, comprehensive plan are nearly three times more likely to feel confident they will achieve their life goals (38 percent strongly agree versus 14 percent among those who lack such a plan).

In the United States, demographically & psychology retirement planning is enormous, big corporates milk their business from providing these services to be precise.

The Indian situation is quite different. We are a transition mode a generation who are getting "pension" which is gradually fading away. The Central Government abolished pensions for new recruits who are in the Government service after the year 2004.

The percentage of youth who get into jobs into multi-national corporations is also huge since the last decade.

Personally speaking, agreed that it is easy money, what they call the information technology-enabled services and the whole gamut of outsourcing which has happened since the IT boom has even enabled individuals to have money and has become goals to many fresh college pass-outs whose dream is to be part of such companies.

Education and our academia are of course, less practical, and more bookish.

But the need to switch on the torch in our brains is most important at earliest of ages, by which I mean to say, the moment you hit a working floor and get your pay cheque, that should rub the fire-stones of thoughts in our brains towards financial planning.

Nevertheless, we all have commitments to pay off, and situations keep coming in life related to your health or health of your loved ones that needs money which is inevitable.

Your planning starts after all this or long with  this, trust me it is possible.

The goal is to diversify your options. Trust me, this is an era of possibilities for the people with the right attitude and the acumen to achieve their goals. It should start with savings that should transform into fixed and movable assets.

Trust me there are enterprises out there, who are not frauds who are actually ready to help you to convert whatever savings which you had kept it aside for investment purposes into something fruitful, or there will be those trust worthy friends who have already have experience in this area who will definitely help you out.

Start investing in financial instruments available in your country, which is all together a world by itself.

The goal is always to have a second income and not depend on one this is time and again told by great people like Warren Buffet.

It is a wide-open space for you, you decide you just want to walk with a pay cheque or play ball with investments or hit a home run with sound financial planning? and if you do that planning in the right time, every ball you hit is bound to hit a home run!

Thanks for your time.
