The Sigmoid Curve.

Hello readers

Hope you guys are doing well .

Do not wait until the iron is hot; but make it hot by striking.
-William Butler Yeats

Well it’s another gloomy day here in Bangalore, a great season to take out the blankets and sleep.

But definitely we need to work towards our goal and then we will sleep in peace, well today wanted to talk about growth and difficulties in growing.

We all have heard about the title, the sigmoid curve, it is usually quoted in two fields, of science in mathematics and biology .In mathematics it is been studied in a bigger branch of the subject called the calculus.

In biology a sigmoid curve helps in understanding the growth rate of animal, bacteria, the cells in our body and so on. There is a main characteristic of this curve that is the‘s’ shape and the gradual dips and boosts is also a feature to be observed.

When we start discussing the growth aspect, immediately we get the next thought, how the growth rate is, is there any hindrance that is slowing the growth? And so on. Definitely there will be always factors that will promote growth as well as demote the growth that is the rule of nature to maintain equilibrium.

Let’s start with Children ,when a child is born the parents are the most happiest people in the world ,they promote the growth of that child to the maximum extent possible by providing the essential values of life ,the love and care it needs. Then there comes a stage in the life of the child where he or she has reached equilibrium in the sigmoid.

The future dim or dip of the curve according to me should be taken care of that child, that is what determines the next aspect which is, how he or she will handle difficulties ,that are sure to first discourage the person’s growth but, getting out of these hard times will definitely will get the person success.

Now talking about is this word called difficulty, I feel this is an important word that makes its mark in a person’s life, it can make a person or break a person, it can make a person a hero or a complete loser in life, he becomes wise or a fool, if he does not know to handle difficulties, the foolishness can go so intense that sometimes it may lead to even death!

The part about death I was talking about is definitely not an exaggeration ,have we not seen people dying just because he did not get a nod from a Girl or his dad for his marriage ,come on can he even take that situation as a difficult one? That is the sad state of this world .People have lost the sense of differentiating, what they can handle and what they cannot! And consider all situations they face as difficult.

This happens due to loss of patience.

We want everything to happen in a jiffy like a pizza delivery! No that is not how life should work, there should be struggle in life we must face difficulties, drown in them and then come out clean, like a fish out of a dirty pond.

These difficulties are the testing times in a person’s life.

It starts suddenly ,escalates and goes to a  point where we feel it’s all over !then it stays there for a while and after that the breaking point is reached from the next moment what you will see is only a life of success where you can be confident to face the upcoming difficulties of life.

When we see the sigmoid curve after the equilibrium point it moves further higher ,we must not mistake that its becoming more worse than before ,because according the theory in biology the growth further moves on ,so we can interpret that our difficulties will come down and promote growth.

When we walk ,tripping is normal ,likewise for growth ,hindrance is natural ,that doesn’t mean we must close this book called life by just seeing the first few pages and thinking that it is difficult to read.

Let us face difficulties and grow wise, and help others to come out of the same situation and help them as well, to grow, to become better individuals in life.

Thanks a lot for your time, all the best, make sure your sigmoid always maintains its shape.

Have a nice day.
