Veritable Civilization

Hello There

I hope you are fine today.

The world has progressed from whatever state it was because, to be honest, I do not believe in the Big Bang theory as belief more in facts than Chimera or fantasy.

We are aware of the repetitive story of human evolution; I am not going to bore you by ranting on the same thing.

Think of this word equality, what are those vibes coming up in your brain? I asked this to some of my friends and family,  interestingly they came up with, the need to treat people equally, gender bias, inequality, the power of unity and most of them used this word unity.

So in the beginning, when humans were still making sense of this oasis in the universe called earth, we were just hunters, gathers until slowly we became intellectual and this world is now called "civilized?"

Hmm…. So let me think what do we mean by civilized, can we call it cultured, refined, urbane?

I want to talk about three crucial aspects today,

One: what is true civilization or to be truly civilized.
Two: The bias mindset of homo sapiens.
Three: the need for equality.

The need for equality.
Well people say this is an era of open-minded people, free-living, easy going are some of the jargons, but I feel everything is not as transparent as it looks, because I am a realist I see what is going on in people’s lives, they are stuck on a lone cantilevers because they are not treated as same as others, and are not accepted in society for whatever reasons this "civilized" society thinks is logical!

For instance, in the Oscar award winning movie joker, the director has tried to illustrate how a social outcast turns into a negative person and become a sadist! Is society not partly responsible? Think there may be so many people still fighting for their equality while we are enjoying ours!

The bias Mindset.
Chauvinism and feminism are related words, and there is a lot of bias that goes hand in hand with these two words. They are related to the opposite sexes pointing fingers each other and trying to prove one is superior to the other, where are we heading do you think this is the right direction? Come on, men can't tolerate women and women can’t tolerate men? So we never moved on.

Men and women are at fault here, and I think it is just slowing the progress of the world by draining energies into parallel warehouses of hatred towards each other.

 The dream of true civilization.
You might have heard this before, but I think it makes sense and it may be real, individual sections in the society are living differently than you and me, how are they different? They are leading lives with bare minimum of resources, with no clean water to drink just following their survival instincts, do you think they understand the words like religion, gender bias, definitely not because they are living on a simple value system which helps them socialize with anyone and everyone who will help them to survive the sunset and allow them to see the next sunrise, I appreciate their value system more than the sophisticated ones which we are trapped in!

The essence of progress is the root of a society not at the tremendous economic standards of that domicile, even though a country is known to the world by these economic factors, the grass-root level reveals how happy a commoner in that country is? The day he has his smile on his face that is the dream of true civilization.

The essence is also the omission of trivial inequalities like gender wars, religious wars, discrimination of all kind and addition of simplicity, joyfulness purity in the name of humanity and nothing else.

Men and women should acknowledge each other's weaknesses and complement each other and work as a team which is the first step towards civilization.

Look back at the path you took when you have reached your destination, you will be the first to know if you have progressed.

Thanks for your time, Have a great day ahead.

Money Plant - A Delusion or Reality?

Hello readers

Hope you all are fine.

Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.
– Warren Buffett

The millennium is moving on, and we have walked twenty years in time after the famous Y2K. So what has changed in your life since then?

Well the obvious answers are, we moved out of colleges chose our carriers, realised a lot! oh my God! A lot of things which we thought were so rosy are just clouds and clouds of delusion.

We lost a few friends, understood a few of them who tried to help us in that part of our passage.

Some more things which changed for us, back at home people changed their perceptions towards us.

Now from a pampered kid, to a college kid to a young man or women, people at home are expecting more from you than you imagined before.

Well, the ground reality, specifically on the expectation part, Miss Sudha Murthy says in one of her books: whatever you become in life at the end of the day, is a just like a happy chat with your loved ones sipping a glass of coffee! And share that joke. That’s so true.

There is something new in your life since you became a career employee, that is money! Let us discuss.

In this blog:
· Do you need a financial plan?
· Is there something called financial independence?

There is a premise for this blog, even though when we blog it is for the worldwide web, I feel this will be more relevant to a country like India, for the simple fact that I am not sure on the earning capacities and employment realities and earning capacity of other countries.

How many times have you felt in the last six months that you had to save money, or “oh I could have bought this if I had worked on my savings”?

Have you been thinking and sometimes whining about when can I buy things or help people without thinking the monetary aspect of it?

These are the questions which are flashed in a bonanza ad queue on your Tv sets smartphones ETC, by the investment tycoons who want you to invest in their funds and securities.

Financial literacy is the word which is creating snow storms in the minds of people these days.

When a person starts earning, he experiences a few basic reactions or emotions initially, that is happiness, excitement, motivation, and also disappointments.

But unfortunately, the awareness and the zeal or higher thinking towards earning and saving has diminished, it’s only earned and spent.

What is the right thing to do? Even though earn and spend is fun, and I too have enjoyed it but save should a branch of your money plant.

We undertake courses in management, lessons in commerce, industrial engineering the list are endless, did they teach you how to run your life, even though I can’t say ultimately no. Still, there is a point where a course can’t take you forward, it is you who should understand life where bookish knowledge ended and begin!

 Financial planning
Explore the markets of your country, look at what best works for you, do your own analysis, talk to people your peers, colleagues who are already saving, I am sure some smart people around you are looking for an opportunity to open up on this.

Brooding about not saving and just borrowing loans is an endless dead pool, the banking bulldozers are just waiting for you to push your credit risk to the edge.

Mindless spending of money has to become the trend of this generation which is not wise, and feel is not future proof it is like, you are aware the fuel in the car not enough to reach your destination still you don’t stop fill.

Becoming a materialistic individual owning things which you might not use is also a cause for your cash crunch.

I have written atleast more than ten blogs about materialism,

The above two were my initial  two blogs which kick-started my blogging journey, and still the materialism fire is put this world in limbo.

Financial independence
Of course, some people are financially independent, take Rakesh Jhunjhunwala he is the most brilliant fund planner and investor I have seen, Warren buffet is another one.

Did they do it in one day? No, but they did a day on day.

Whatever may be the situation in your life, saving should be in your top 3 priorities this is the prescription of the famous financial planners in the world.

The money plant is not a delusion, if you the Gardner of that plant takes good and calculated steps and cultivate it, you will get the fruits of your gardening skills in the form of returns to your investments.

Maverick in traffic!

Hello Readers

How are you today?

Work hard, work harder, work with efficiency, work in cooperative spirit
Work with a team spirit to make your country great, self-supporting and strong.

-Sir M Visvesvaraya
The greatest civil engineer ever lived in India.

They say a plan is first blotted in mind and then on a sheet of paper and then they bring it to life.

In fact, India is known to be the center of architectural marvel and the Aw aspiring temples, church and Sufi architecture and other learning centers.

The I.T( Information Technology) capital of the country "Bengaluru" buzzing with young minds trying to solve the analytical assignments challenged to them inside the glass doors of their workplace.

Well, it is rightly quoted by many that, "Bengaluru is the silicon valley of India".

That looks very good on papers, but that is the ground reality of the commuters!

What are the perils and pitfalls of the industry, the ripples created on the infrastructure of this once beautiful city?

Usually a motivational blogger and what they call the optimistic types  I choose to be realistic and grim about this one.

Starting in the 1980s, Karnataka emerged as the information technology capital of the country. A total of 1973 companies in Karnataka are involved in Information Technology related business, including big firms like Infosys and Wipro who have their headquarters in Bangalore. The origin of the growth of the software industry in Karnataka seems to have been the entry of Texas Instruments which was the first multinational to set up base in Sona Tower, Millers Road, Bangalore in 1985.

Texas Instruments was searching for a location to set up their overseas development center in India in the early 1980s. They first looked at the states of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, but when both states refused permission, Karnataka was approached with the condition that land allotted must be near an airport.

The then chief minister of Karnataka Gundu Rao agreed to their terms and granted land near the H.A.L. Airport in Bangalore. Texas Instruments currently has a large facility in Bagmane Tech Park in Bangalore near the airport.

There were many factors conducive to the development of the software industry in Karnataka state.

One factor is the presence of large numbers of top-grade science and engineering institutions like IISc, NITK, B.M.S. College of Engineering, B.V.B., Malnad College of Engineering MSRIT, N.I.E., SJCE, RVCE, PESIT, SDMCET and around 200 engineering colleges.

The software industry requires large numbers of skilled engineers which are regularly churned out of the engineering colleges in Karnataka.

The presence of Public sector undertakings like B.E.L., H.A.L., BHEL, I.T.I. And BEML gave ready access to manpower as well as trial opportunities of the newly developed software. There were many advanced laboratories like N.A.L. and ISRO in and around Bangalore which provided necessary basic knowledge required for software development.

The successive state governments have been proactive in providing essential facilities for the growth of the industry. The salubrious climate of Bangalore also helps in the growth of the software industry there. ( numbers and names Wikipedia)

When we come to the post-2006 era, when large companies like Infosys, H.C.L.- Tech Wipro, Satyam had passed the sigmoid it was sure that the Bengaluru will become the future I.T. hub of India.

The effects

There have been both positive and negative effects of the boom. Well for any onlooker it is evident that the per capita income of the state has risen, the software engineers earn the salaries at the beginning of the career what their parents earned during the time of their superannuation.

The downside

There has been a decline of quality engineers passing out of colleges, they are just manufactured engineers who are designed to clear corporate interviews. The Government too has made getting a government job like sour grapes which can't be reached.

Even though the earning capacity of an individual increased substantially, they do not know what to with the remuneration so technically there is a trend towards financial illiteracy.

The apocalypse effect!

Now the once garden city has become a concrete city with just huge megalithic apartments all around us! Definitely, jobs draw population, and that population brings its own needs, and that has to be catered.

But there is a point when the land cannot take much of human interventions which have led to catastrophes in the recent past examples, flooding of roads, the low laying areas being submerged during rains.

We, the citizens, don't speak much and try to be more and more supportive of solving the civic problems by ourselves. Still, if the public works department is in a state of apathy, with the unplanned development of infrastructure, I think we are in a state of emergency.

Recently I read an article where Bengaluru one of the well-planned cities in Asia has the worst traffic management in the world surpassing even New Delhi.

My reaction was not surprising, but it was disappointment and shallow, imagine you are trying to build sub-urban trains, metro rails. As a result, you block roads, but are we living in a superman era where everything can work as a click?

I took this picture last week! to show the poor utilities given  to workmen, in this case they were mixing water using paper cups! To complete a footpath construction!

Why is there is no planning, and what an everyday commuter can witness is just apathy on the road and feel depressed about it.

We all as the daily users of the roads and infrastructure who generate economy for this country should definitely start questioning the authorities about their plans and deadlines! And question their logic and timing of destroying roads and trees!

Let me know your thoughts on this all-important one.

Thanks a lot for your time.
