Depression :A point of no return?

Hello readers

A very happy Christmas to one and all, and wishing you a great year ahead.

There is a joy in this month of december for many reasons, its a season of, families coming together to celebrate, children get gifts, and everyone enjoys the moment and the festive mood.

However, even when the world is enjoying, there are some poor souls, who are sad and, depressed. For them the words, like happiness, joy, smile are just words, and even their meanings do not matter.

But we have to understand, that they too will have a,genuine reasons to be sad, because there can be a fake laugh, but its unlikely to be depressed for fun.

The are times where I am also depressed, and get these type of questions in mind such as why was I born? Why is God cruel to me? and so on.

We are humans and yes I agree we do have limitations but, there should be a limit for these limitations.

Suppose I take an instance,a student failing in an exam, according to psychology, there are three types of responses that can be expected by the child, the first one would be, being depressed the second will be, diversion and the last one will be showing agression.

In an old regional movie which, I had watched down the time line this example was shown where, a child who was scolded by his dad, runs away from his house, and becomes a helper in a hospital for disabled children. So the kid used diversion and agression as a route to evade from his depression.

So these basic three reactions, are expected by  doctors when we are depressed.

I must congratulate, the people who, showed aggression, and diversion, when they were depressed, as they know lead there life, with the right attitude to deal with their problems and not feel destroyed for what happened.

Also the people who diverted their minds, who have a good motive towards solving their issues and move on in life.

But people who felt depressed, will never come out the well of sadness and demotivation, and always will be people who don't know the meaning of happiness.

Always be a worrier in your mind, and fight each moment, and face every problem strongly, and if you keep doing this, you will never go to that non-productive, static state called depression.
Martin Luther King Jr said long back "stop cribbing, start living "so that would be my message.

Thanks for your time and happy holidays.

Thanks for the thoughts;
The problems faced are eternal. They have been accentuated in the recent times due to swing to materialism by the contemporary world: we have lost sensitivity and all those human values which are supposed to distinguish a man from the beast. We have no time to reflect on ourselves, let alone on others. Yes, that is the definition of this world, and it is the design of the nature, the executive power of the God.
The solutions have been found and documented; but we are too busy to reflect on them. That will happen no sooner we reognise the mirage we are chasing than we lose our grip on our life and slip into states you seem to suggest.
Even that needs the grace of the God. Lord Krishna says in the Gita, “My Maya is extremely difficult to cross, but for complete surrender to me”, BG, 7-14.
