The Sound of Music-An Analogy With Life.

Hello readers
How are you today? Well, I am okay, surfing my way on tides of this ocean of life.

You're constantly trying to prove yourself, even after you've made it.
-Chester Bennington

How many songs do you listen daily on an average, 5 at least 10? Well, this question is for the music addict like me, for occasional listeners or non-listeners I would urge you to become a music addict!

Yes, music addiction is not severe for your lungs or liver, it is a wonderful medicine for your brain.

What is music, songs? It is a series of vibration of waves constructed to a rhythm and presented through a vocal means or an instrument with or without wordings (Lyrics).

But all songs do have lyrics, except for a few silent ones, which are called instrumentals still they would be set to a tune and a beat.

So until now, we say music is constructed rhythmic vibrations set to a beat, tune with or without lyrics.

Now I want to focus more on the lyrics part in this write-up.

Lyrics are the actual wordings of the song composed by the creator or often called the lyric writer of the song.

Well, these lyrics that he creates may be a self-motivated, which he chose to tell his life story, share his sadness or happiness or show his love towards his soul mate or God in case of devotional songs.

Whatever it may be when you listen to a song, suddenly there is this sensation inside you, have you thought why it happens.

I have been thinking and analysing it on myself I can come to the only conclusion, I think the reason I feel that bliss is that I tend to relate those lyrics to my own life and battles which I am  fighting alone, or I had fought before, so it hits you like a flash and boom! You become a fan of that artist and that song for life, I presume it is the same with most of us.

Michael Jackson was a great singer and a great composer and also had a great team of songwriters who worked for him; even though the music for those songs would be exceptional the words too mattered a lot.

Just take an example of this song: Man in the mirror from his album Bad (1987) he wants the man or the people that is, yourself to change first so that the world will change seeing you and many people like you. Some lyrics from this beautiful song:

“I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change.”

Songwriters: Glen Ballard / Siedah Garrett
Artist: Michael Joseph Jackson

There are many more brilliant songs from the king of pop which I will discuss some other time.

When I listen to this song, a part of me agrees with the song, we humans beings, the root of almost all the problems on this beautiful earth, should change the ways we live so that we can make this a better place for our future generations.

Songs invoke many moods like patriotism, happiness, sadness, love, devotion and so on.

There lived many saints in India who have rendered beautiful compositions which are genuinely holy and which they wrote to break this cycle of life and death and attain salvation they are still regarded as gems of music.

Saint Thyagarja was one among these saints, and his consecration to Lord Rama is nothing but pure love and surrender to him.

For instance this one: tEra teeyaga raadaa rendered in Ragam: gowLipantu; Talam: Adi

Lyrics from this devotional song are in Telugu which is published in English for convenience:

Pallavi

tera tIyaga rAdA lOni Tirupati venkaTaramaNa matsaramunu

anupallavi

parama puruSa dharmAdi mOkSamula pAra dOlu cunnadi nAlOni

caraNam 3

Meaning in Brief: Oh Tirupati Venkataraman! Could you not remove the screen, the screen of anger, arrogance and jealousy, which, taking a firm stand within me, keeps me out of the reach of Dharma and other Purusharthas including Moksha? It effectively hides from vision, the bright light of the lamp, Jnana. By the existence of this screen, my mind gets caught by evil, just as ignorant beasts are got into Hunter’s net. I have been following you faithfully, I pray promptly; remove the screen.

The wisdom of the saint is genuinely respectful, and I think this generation has a lot to learn from such songs.

Well, there are countless songs which we can sit and analyse they give Goosebumps
When we think and relate our lives with those.

But the amazing thing would be if the songs we listen could bring some change in our lives then the creator of that song would be happiest.

So next time you listen to a song, enjoy its rhythm and beats but understand the lyrics that will make you a better person each day.

Of course, there are exceptions where there are songs which do not sound, or there are no meanings in them, well that I leave to your judgment to choose your songs.

If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a
Vegetarian.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Help-A perspective

Hello Reader

How are you today?

Each day is a new realization like a caterpillar develops colors in the cocoon which it is not aware and finally when it comes out as a butterfly amazes itself and you with its colors!
-Michael Jackson

These are the days of realization for many of us because if you take the human life, the prime age of 20 till 40 shapes what we will end up as after these years. The point is how many of us are ready to realize this?

It's again an illusion which makes us feel there is still time for us to do what we want to but we forget, time just runs away in front of us like a bullet train and we miss it each time because of we just too slow to catch the speed of that train.

Can you lead a life without this word?  “help”.

If you ask me, I being a realistic and optimistic person I would say “no” it is impossible.

Look at the history book there are only a few people in this world who can beat their heart and say “I am totally independent” I would imagine in India it would be some monks on the top of the Himalayas who have explored the physical abilities of their body and brain beyond normal human beings.

It is a well-known fact that we are dependent on someone from the moment we are born until we end it.

How can I be so sure that I am confident to say that we always expect help, let me prove my point in the following paragraphs?

The day we are born we were fortunate enough to be taken care by our parents and the nurse at the hospital then the doctor who helped you in the maternity and next your dad who felicitated the whole process financially and morally and from then on till today you were fortunate to have a family happy or sad, you are part of it and realize one day the importance of it.

The helpers

According to me all the service providers in your life are fit to be called helpers at the end of the day if you say they are just doing it for money or you paid them to render that service it does not matter, because it requires a bent of service-mindedness to help someone sacrificing his own time for you.

This whole blog I have kept time as a reference, how much time a person lost of his own to help the other person that is the greatness of people who wish to help, you may return him a favour for his help but time lost is gone! so we need to show latest minimum gratitude for the help we got.

The words like “thank you” and “you are very kind” simply did not just come up with the evolution of vocabulary; it would have been used by people who seek help when they were in distress.

I have experienced helping is a very nice feeling but definitely, conditions apply.

Why do I say conditions apply because if you help without expectation it very pure to your heart and you enjoy the bliss, otherwise you will have a sour or sometimes a bitter taste of expectation hitting you back of your heart and making you feel uneasy?

The obvious

Some obvious feeling felt when we help people is: First of all we feel good about that we helped them, initially the expectation of a return help will arise, which you would not get and you might go tell to a friend about what happened and feel sad about that you helped that person in this crisis, but did not get anything in return and 2 you might stop helping which means the selfishness in you kicked in!

The last sentence of the last para will break you, so if you want to help never expect returns that way you move one step ahead towards higher thinking.

The society

Oh! What a cruel and low minded society we live in, a true disaster and the most disgusting part is, they are all sadists who can’t stand people helping each other and start gossiping about that too! Grow up the great jobless people of all times.

To conclude my blog for those who think it was a confusing one, help is a universal instrument which was presented to us by cosmic forces to in short God,  just like water and air and it is required not only among humans but also within humans and animals and vice versa, be open-hearted and never stop helping for a good cause, and society what society?read what Mother Theresa said about the society she said I quote “helping arms are better than speaking lips” I think that says it all.

Think big do something that will change the perspective of you after you leave this earth for higher purposes and let people remember you forever and repent if they were unjust and unreasonable to you, help with the spirit of Karma yoga, and feel the satisfaction which is like no other.

Never give up.

Thanks for your time.

The comedian.

Hello readers

Hope you are doing good.

To give someone piece of your heart, is worth more than all the wealth in this world.

-Michael Jackson.

There is one thing in this world that we all like , that is laughing  the beauty of laughing is that we forget our differences when we laugh and it is the second expression after crying that we all would have expressed I am sure all our parents would have recalled it, for them it was a jubilant moment to see that innocent face chuckling.

All of us follow a mood culture in our tiny stay on this earth, well if you ask me what is mood culture? This is relatively a new term in psychology, and it is defined as the graph that can be plotted by observing a person’s change in his moods in a single day or over a period of time.

We are aware of the fact that frame of mind is playing an important part in our lives, the simple question I would like to ask is, if we are expressionless, this world would not have been like this, it would always be gloomy.

When a whole crowd was serious, there was that one person who laughed loudly despite the “maintain silence” board seeing which others in the crowd felt lighter that is the beauty of humour.

When we wake up in the sunrise the mood we are in is calm and neutral , as you know it is a very natural effect of sleep, unless your yesterday was so bad that you couldn’t sleep over it, that your brain carried it on.

So after your fully awake and ready to go wherever you want to you go, there is this place you will definitely visit and you go to this place each day, are you thinking about that secret place where you hid your best stationary, which you did not want to share it with your sibling! No I was just talking about your bathroom.

It is proved that, this place defines the phrase “lighter moods”. When we think about this place what comes to your mind? At first soap, shower, taps, water and so on but,I am sure even this word will strike you: “Bathroom singing or singing in the shower”.

Of course I proudly agree that I sing in the bathroom at times and I am sure most of you do, and we never care about the listeners.

I think it is just amazing, our brains enter this state of bliss, we sing all our favourite songs and come out happy and again become serious, To be scientific on this , when I did some research on this mindless and hilarious singing, I found that when your alone, your brain reaches this lighter mood where we forget all our problems and turns you into a comedian, where you remember all your happy moments and the result of this remembering of your lighter moments is singing, this also happens during long drives, where you hum along with your car stereo or with your fellow passengers.

Seriously I feel this is just incredible, what a wonderful creation is our brain? It knows how to go easy on you and when to be tough with you.

But you should be above your brain and decide whether you want to be in a lighter mood or always be that grim fellow.

Problems are there for all but jumping out of the box is what is required, we all should laugh our hearts out each day, laughing clubs are not the places I want you to go because it is not an exercise that we laugh in a particular pattern as instructed by someone, it is a reflex action that is triggered, and it has to be that way.

Try to be a comedian to yourself and all the people around you and just check, your problems will vanish in thin air.

Remember how you were caught in class for laughing loudly after few seconds the whole class including your professor burst into laughter.

Remember when you had a great ‘singing session’ in the bath and your family had that glued smile on their face when you came out.

Life is not as hard as we think it is light and gets lighter like a feather, keep your focus on the goal you want to achieve but let smiling be one of your tool to achieve it.

Thanks for your time and have a nice day.
