Hello readers
Hope you all are doing well
Language is the blood of the soul into which
thoughts run and out which they grow.
-Oliver Wendell Holmes, Former Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States .
The essential requirement for survival and enjoying
this planet is communication, and we call our earth as organic, not because all
species are alive and breathing; it is also because we all communicate.
We, humans, invented language; animals did not create
but still have their own way of communication.
The languages were demographically split across the
length and breadth of the globe, and many languages emerged.
So the populations across the globe started to
evolve learnt languages invested time in research invented things which are
useful for improving their standard of living all this is collectively called
as a civilization.
Next came the explorations. They started discovering
sea routes Ferdinand Magellan circumnavigated the globe. Columbus
and Vasco da Gama found sea routes to Asia and India, Amerigo Vespucci to
America, the world was not getting connected with its culture and knowing
people.
So
what was the barrier here, do you even think there were any barriers when two
people from two unknown locations meet?
Of
course, there the first among the many hurdles would be communicated.
There
is a quote which goes back a long way “language is code” this is from the
renaissance period, which was the first cultural and scientific change recorded
in the modern period.
Language
is a code, just look at India; it has so many styles and dialects, we may say
the root of words in India is from the from Tamil and Sanskrit., and all other
languages are branches of these languages. However, still, each style is unique
in its own way.
The
learning part is not so tricky; you learn a language at home that would be your
traditional language or the famous mother tongue. The learning process evolves
when you attend school when you meet new people and learn words as subjects in
school, your language skills grow, as you are in the rhythm of learning each
grade after grade.
Now
there are so many languages in the world, imagine great leaders meet to discuss
important issues which can change the status of countries by many ways, how do
they communicate so quickly if they do not understand each other ?
Here
come the translators. Who are they?
They
are a group of people who are linguists who master many languages and help
people of all walks of life and become a bridge between two people to convey
their messages and help in the process of communication.
We
have to realize this fact that translators were a key during the world war,
they were considered as necessary as the red cross!
The
motive behind this passage is that we are living in an information explosion
era, where everything is just a finger swipe away.
But
just think how we have arrived here, the methods they would have devised to
understand languages and then translate it, it makes my head spin just to think
of it.
After
the lingual translation, there is another field of study called the specialized
translation where professionals help the deaf and dumb people to understand the
news, for instance, I feel these are righteous acts.
The
latest advancement is the application world, and now you can learn, type and
translate and understand any language you wish to, some great applications
like google translate, waygo, Microsoft translator, and text grabber have made this possible.

I
am particularly impressed by the ease of usage and dummy-proof of these apps.
I
appreciate the developers because these are just not a regular apps, they are
bringing the world together and giving a new dimension to communication.
Try
learning new languages, I think that is an excellent hobby , it helps
you explore the world of literature .
Thanks
for your support as always. Let me know your opinion.
Let’s
all hope and pray the situation of the world improves
my next blog is on the pandemic.
